Community
The Rotary Club of Parksville is all about community. Projects over the past few years have included:
Weekends Without Hunger – $50,000 (over 2 years) to provide weekend supplies for needy children.
Forward House – $40,000 (over 2 years) to support those with mental health challenges and recovering from addiction.
French Creek Estuary Project – $10,000 to support protection of eagles, fish and the creek.
WOW Bus – $9000 to convert a literacy bus to increase access by young families.
North Island Wildlife Rescue Centre – $8000 to build and renovate animal structures.
Shelly Road Park Restoration – $6000 plus a lot of hands-on work
Saturday Morning Breakfast Club – $3000 for needy families in partnership with the Oceanside Building Learning Together.
Tour De Rock – Lunch provided to Cops For Cancer team during their stop in Parksville.
ALS Walk – Have provided “hands-on” support for the annual ALS Walk for many years (banner photo).
Salvation Army – Rotarians “ring the bells” every year at the annual Christmas Kettle Campaign.
